Before Your Appointment
Getting a tattoo is exciting, and a little preparation goes a long way toward making your session comfortable and ensuring great results.
The Night Before
- Get a full night of sleep — your body heals better when rested
- Avoid alcohol — it thins your blood and increases bleeding
- Moisturize the area that will be tattooed
- Eat a good meal and stay hydrated
Day of Your Session
Eat a solid meal within 2 hours of your appointment. Low blood sugar can make you dizzy during the session. Bring snacks and a water bottle, especially for longer sessions.
What to Wear
Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that gives easy access to the area being tattooed. Dark colors are smart since ink can transfer to fabric during the session.
What to Bring
- Valid photo ID
- Headphones and a charged phone for entertainment
- Snacks and water
- A hoodie or blanket — some people get cold during longer sessions
- Reference images if you have them
Trust your artist. Kristie will work with you on placement, sizing, and adjustments to make sure the design works perfectly with your body.
Mental Prep
Yes, tattoos involve some discomfort. But most people find it far more manageable than expected. Focus on breathing, stay relaxed, and remember — the temporary discomfort creates permanent art.
